A native of Charleston, SC.  Chief Warrant Officer Ferrette is a retired Navy Surface Operations Officer with over 22 years of naval service. In July 1988, he attended Basic Training (BOOT CAMP) at Recruit Training Command, IL. Upon completion of basic training, he attended Operations Specialist "A" school at FLEET COMBAT TRAINING CENTER ATLANTIC, Va Beach, Va.  In February 1989, he reported for duty aboard his first ship the USS WILLIAM V. PRATT (DDG 44) as the Global Command and Control System Operator advancing to Petty Officer Second Class. He deployed to the MED/RED SEA in support of OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM. After decommissioning, he proceeded to the USS SAMUEL E. MORISON (FFG 13).

 

In September 1992, Chief Warrant Officer Ferrette reenlisted as an Air Intercept Controller and Tactical Information Coordinator aboard the USS WAINWRIGHT (CG 28). He deployed to the MED/Adriatic Sea in support of Yugoslavia Humanitarian operations.He also earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) designation. After decommissioning, he reported to the staff of COMMANDER CRUISER DESTROYER GROUP TWELVE aboard the USS SARATOGA (CV-60) where he earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) designation. He also deployed aboard the USS WASP (LHD 1) during OPERATION UPHOLD DEMOCRACY off the coast of Haiti.  In September 1995, he was command advanced to Petty Officer First Class and assigned to NRD ATLANTA, NAVY RECRUITING STATION CHARLESTON, SC as the Recruiter in Charge. 

 

In Febreuary 1999, he returned to sea duty on the staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron 26 as the Combat Information Center Officer where he was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.He deployed to the MED/Arabian Gulf aboard the USS EISENHOWER (CVN 69), USS MAHAN (DDG 72), and the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) in the beginning phases of OPERATION ENDURING/IRAQI FREDOM. In February 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Ferrette was assigned as the Assistant Officer in Charge/Command Chief of Navy Center for Tactical Systems Interoperability where he was commissioned through the Limted Duty/Chief Warrant Officer commissioning program.   

 

In July 2005, he was assigned to Navy Ocean Processing Facility (NOPF) Whidbey Island, WA as the SURTASS and Current OPS Officer.  In 2007, he was promoted to the Command Training Officer where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University and a Human Resource Management Certification from Chapman University. He earned his Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) designation. In 2008, he transferred to the USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) as the Assistant Operations Officer where he completed his Masters of Science Degree from Chapman University.  He also completed his Surface Warfare Officer designation and subsequently retired in 2010.

 

Chief Warrant Officer Ferrette was selected as Granby High School 2011 First Year Employee of the year and finished top three first year employees in the Norfolk Public Schools District.  He resides in Virginia Beach with his family. His personal decorations include the 3 Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 7 Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Joint meritorious unit award, 2 Navy meritorious unit commendations, three Navy Battle "E" ribbons, four Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, Operation Enduring/Iraqi freedom, Southwest Asia Medal w/ two bronze stars for Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Humanitarian medal, Recruiting ribbon, seven Sea service deployment ribbons, the Kuwait liberation medal, and the military marksmenship ribbon.
